    this wonderful work really presses my buttons ... i love its internal dialogue between abstraction and figuration ... and the set of the mouth and recessing of the eyes into deep dark, juxtaposed against the flash of red, is quite poignant, so expressive ... what a strong painter!

    This is an especially strong and expressive portrait. Filled with emotion and staring straight ahead at the viewer, it is riveting.

    The colours and textures are brillian.
    I enjoyed vieiwing all of the portrait/figure paintings on Catherines website as well. I prefer to see this type of painter on this site. Makes a nice change.
