  1. This is one of my favourites so far. I want to experiment combining grisaille and colour, and reign in my overpainting to play with transparency and opacity more.

    Not only is this portrait doing those things wonderfully in terms of technique, but these effects are used to make powerful... blanking out the noun but POWERFUL.
