I'm a bit uncertain about how I want to say what this makes me feel. I find that many renderings of the human body are in an "objectifying" mode or in the genre of fragility/weakness. I am passionate that in my journey as artist wanna be to find/create more renderings of the human spirit that show strength/character/inner balance. When I consider what I want hanging on my own walls this is what I want in my space. This is said with full understanding about Art being a platform for so many experiences/needs etc. and that with growth and change what I want hanging on my walls will evolve as my art and heart do. This is so stunning. I am in awe.
ReplyDeleteI saw her on the bravo channel over ten years ago. Her sepia tone watercolors wer done in two minutes or less. She is a genius. I've looked for the segment and I cannot find it anywhere. When I saw the segment I was so amazed I was afraid to blink for fear I would miss something. She's my favorite.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely visit her site, she discusses her process and the various techniques she has studied and incorporated into the work. I agree, the work is stunning.
ReplyDeleteWish I could see that tv segment, sounds fascinating!!!
Melissa I totally agree with your sentiment. I don't think we can help BUT create more and more complex and varied artwork as we develop an understanding throughout a lifetime.
All we can do is pursue our true interests and learn learn learn and make our minds and understanding of the world as complex as possible. Nothing is more fulfilling anyway, may as well do it :)
Magnifique votre travail !!! EB
