Favorite paintings of women by women, with a focus on contemporary, living artists.
She's just lovely. I could do without the gentleman in the corner, however, no need.... Don't mean that to sound snarky. I wish I were as good a painter as Dana Levin.
VH- Thanks for your comment. Also, I want to add that I love the guy in the corner! I think he adds a lot to the work. To me, he seems to adore the woman. I read it as affection. And to celebrate something so positive in paint is not done enough these days.
Duly noted, Alia -- I'll give him a second chance....heh!
I would have to agree with Alia. As much as I enjoy painting, I get my inspiration from art like this! Not only does he seem to adore this women, I will go as far as to say there is a sense of independence in her, she evokes a self assurance. That is true beauty. That would allure any man.
Lovely painting! The color variations are amazing!
Wow! I love the structure in her face. She expresses strength and confidence. She seems self assured and independent. The man adoring her feels to me, that he adores her for having these qualities. It's really a wonderful painting. Very inspiring.
wonderful colour palette!Allison Lowewww.allisonlowepaintingdiary.blogspot.com
:o) Nice to read the comments. I am the woman in this painting. And he is one of my good friends. This is the first portrait I modelled for when I started school in Florence.
